My name is Peg and this is my “Before and Beyond” Story.

I’m 60 years old and lived 36 of those years in a multiple domestic violence marriage. I escaped in 2019. I am in a much better place, emotionally and mentally. But because of many physical injuries, I deal with a lot of pain & inflammation issues. My abuser almost broke my neck twice, and I had to have 3 different spinal and neck surgeries to keep from being wheelchair-bound. He also dislocated my right knee, and wouldn’t allow me to go get medical attention. So he put it back in place himself, causing various injuries in and around my kneecap.

I also suffer from complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Narcissistic Abuse Syndrome. All of these combined are horrible for my focus, concentration, & energy level.

I am also in kidney failure from Polycystic Kidney Disease. I’m looking at a transplant, but was possibly going to have to do dialysis until the surgery because my kidney function level is extremely low.
