I have struggled with weight issues most of my life—as so many people have. As a child, I grew up in a Polish/Italian family where we loved to celebrate and eat rich foods. My weight went up and down, up and down. Finally, during my high school years, my weight became healthier and stable. Even though I had some great, fit years as an active musical theater performer during college, I always felt I had to put in twice the effort with my exercise and weight training to keep fit.
After gaining over 80 pounds during my pregnancy in 1982-1983, the struggle became worse. Extreme life challenges entered, and stress was slowly becoming my lifelong enemy. To compensate, I would binge eat, gain weight, and then take on a “fad diet” and exercise at the gym to shed the weight gain. To add fuel to the fire, when we couldn’t afford to eat fresh foods, we ate all those cheap pre-packaged high carb foods. I didn’t know it at the time, but I was hurting the internal functions of my body which led to acquiring an underactive thyroid in my mid 30’s. At that point in my life, I simply had to function as a divorced single mom without child support. I forged ahead and worked three jobs (one was a full-time teaching job) to take care of my son and myself. This only added more stress.
Now having added the thyroid complication, moving into my 40’s, and taking care of my mother who was sick and homebound, the pounds packed on once again, and my scale topped over 250 pounds. I developed heel spurs and had to wear orthotic insoles in my shoes. I was in such pain. I was a mess! I was now in the pre-diabetic zone and miserable. After mom died, I was able to lose 80 pounds and was finally down to a size 8. That didn’t last too long as I got married soon after, and we both had a lot of fun enjoying food, company and traveling to our favorite Disney locations. I began to follow a repetitive unhealthy pattern here: stress + weight gain + weight loss, repeat.
Fast forward to 2017, I was back up to 240 pounds and had to have my gall bladder removed. My surgeon told me I was a perfect candidate for gastric sleeve surgery, which I had never considered. I went for it. That was the best medical decision I had made in my life thus far. My stomach had already been stretched from here to kingdom come. This surgery brought about a new mindset, a very small stomach with the size of a baby’s appetite, and an extreme weight and size loss down to a size 2! I was no longer a pre-diabetic, and I was happy and stable until…the Covid-19 Pandemic hit. I contracted Covid-19 for my 59th birthday and packed on about 15 pounds. Five months later, I had my right hip replaced and packed on another 10-15 pounds. Here we go again…
Then, I was introduced to ZipSlim by my friend and coach Laura Spaugh. I tried the samples and LOVED the taste. They were delicious! I started drinking my ZipSlim this past October but didn’t follow the Reboot Rituals. I was trying it out to see if I would have any side effects. It absolutely did—I gained an unexpected ability to get good sleep at night! I lost a few pounds and a few inches! I felt happier, in a good mood, and was able to make it through the day without snacking. It was a craving crusher for me! What a blessing!
I signed up for the Reboot 66 in January, became a coach, and have been committed to following the rituals. This is what I have experienced:
- I’ve continued to experience good sleep at night.
- I’ve continued to be in a happier mood.
- I can focus for longer periods of time.
- My cravings have been crushed.
- My memory and ability to remember names has improved.
- Improved immune system

- This was noted by my massage therapist during my last visit. He said, “This is the fastest you’ve turned over on the table” and “Your flexibility has improved.”
- My physical endurance has increased—I can exercise for longer periods of time.
- My energy has increased—I now wake up more refreshed and energized!
- I’ve released 6 pounds.
- I’ve MELTED 28.25 INCHES in 66 days!
- Reduced 5 inches in my waist alone!
- Here’s the big one…STRESS RELIEF!
- I have a very stressful multi-tasking job, and when stress is high, I don’t react with outward anxiety like I used to. Rather, I quickly evaluate it and then LET IT GO! I’ve never been able to do this—what a life upgrade!
